Ballet is the foundation of good dance technique. This is where students build the strength, flexibility, balance, and rhythm needed for all dance forms. You learn the positions of the body, turn-out, correct stance and placement, ballet vocabulary, and other important fundamentals of dance.
Dancers learn this framework while working on turns, small and large jumps, as well as the many intricate steps that link these skills together to create the beauty and gracefulness of ballet.
All Dancers are encouraged to take ballet class.
Pointe work is a specialized extension of ballet training where ballerinas dance on the tips of their toes in specially designed shoes. It was first incorporated in Classical Ballet to create an illusion of flight and mysticism for the ethereal creatures in story ballets, such as angels, ghosts, fairies, and other magical beings.
