Mr. Tavo - Jazz & Hip Hop Teacher
Tavo learned to dance at the age of 5 from the local park district in Oregon, Illinois. When he turned 15, he continued his study of dance at Forest Hills Dance Academy, under the direction of Teddi Burgess, where he joined the Forest Hills Dance Company and participated in competitions, special performances and dance concerts. He also attended The Dance Congress under the direction of Ted Jackson. Tavo has been recognized for his talents by winning many awards- including the L.A. Agent Scholarship with which he traveled to Los Angeles to study and dance with some of the world’s greatest choreographers, teachers, and dancers, including Joe Tremaine, Doug Caldwell, Tina Landon, Wade Robson, and Ty Diorio. Tavo has also studied under choreographers and dancers Brian Friedman, Bobby Newberry, and Blake McGrath.
Tavo is a guest choreographer for the Orchesis Program at Buffalo Grove High School, in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, where his choreography can be featured at the Metropolis Performing Arts Show and Dance Chicago.
While Tavo has a love for dance, he also has a love for animals. He lives, along with his partner, with 3 dogs, 6 cats and 3 fish in a REALLY BIG house. He loves University of Michigan Football - GO BLUE!!, Italian food, and SHOPPING!!!
