Ms. Kerrie - School of Dance Director/Head Teacher
Kerrie’s broad professional background includes performing, teaching, and choreographing (in the U.S. and abroad). She has been teaching all levels, ages, and styles of dance for 20 years. She has a BFA from Northern Illinois University, and has also worked extensively with underprivileged and special needs children and teens in public schools and day care, and with inmates in women’s prisons. Kerrie toured with the NYC based Avodah Dance Ensemble performing and teaching workshops to children and adults all across the country. “The Forgiveness Project” and “Balancing Act” were just two of the works Kerrie helped create - their goal being to build community through dance.
Kerrie’s professional company, K.C.D. has performed her choreography throughout Chicago - including the Around the Coyote Festival, Full Circle Danztheatre Festival, Dance Chicago, Kidsapolooza, and Quest Theatre Ensemble’s QuestFEST, and Questival of New Works. She has also choreographed for many stage shows including The Wizard of Oz, Little Shop of Horrors, The Drunkard, and Alas! Alack! Zorro is Back!
